Shikamaru is a Virgo. Ino is a Libra.

Virgo and Libra

When Virgo and Libra join together in a love match, it can be like puting two puzzle pieces together. Each locks into the other and sits comfortably in place. Both Signs seek security in partnership, and they share a love of beauty and culture. They can work together efficiently and smoothly because they desire similar rewards. The Virgo-Libra relationship may trickle along in the beginning, but it will rev up once both partners grow to respect one another.

Virgo and Libra both appreciate superficial pleasures, and they often enjoy collecting bone china, art or photographs. They also enjoy the theater and all forms of art. Practicality and pleasure are important to both Signs, and they compliment one another in many ways. Virgo appreciates Libra's charm and diplomacy, and Libra can even things out when Virgo doesn't get their way. Libra appreciates the Virgo love of order and the tangible rewards that come with it. Additionally, Libra and Virgo are willing and able to see the different sides of an argument, and together they make decisions only after examining the facts.

The Planet Mercury rules Virgo and Libra is ruled by the Planet Venus. Virgo is an excellent communicator, analyst and thinker. These partners share a love of good, honest conversation and exquisite taste. Libra, especially, is about balance, and both partners share pleasing personalities and a strong desire for balance. Together, they bring culture and beauty to the world around them. Also due to Venus's influence, Libra can be lazy, and both partners may be seen as snobs: Virgo with their high expectations and Libra guilty of an intellectual superiority complex.

Shika's hobby is cloud watching. Ino's hobby is star gazing.

How are these two things different? Really? The only real difference is that one is in the daytime and the other is at night. They both entail sitting or laying in a particular spot for an extensive period of time, and gazing at the sky. Therefore, it wouldn't be all too far a stretch of the imagination to suppose that they might enjoy these activities together.

They both put up walls.

Something that occured to me is that Shika's "I don't care" attitude could quite possibly be a kind of defense mechanism so that he doesn't have to deal with the "real world".

Now, I'm obviously not a shikatema supporter, however, being astute as she is, she makes an interesting point here; is Shika afraid of being hurt? By his silence, and walking away, he's obviously avoiding the subject. Personally, this leads me to believe that the answer is 'yes'.

[link]

For a "lazy bum", he's awfully sensetive to failure, isn't he? At this point, in his mind, he's failed his mission, failed as a leader, and failed to take care of his friends; and he's blaming himself for all of it.

In a story arc, Ino asks Sakura to ask Tsunade to take her on as an apprentice as well. The reason Ino gives is that she doesn't feel useful to her team anymore. This tells me that Ino has a need to be needed. Which isn't uncommon. However, that usually means that if the person doesn't feel needed, they often feel as if they don't have a purpose. Still with me? Assuming the above statements are true, we may also assume that Ino's heart is a lot more fragile than she'd like to admit. That sheds a different light on her confident, competetive, energetic demeanor, doesn't it? It might be a mask for her fragile heart. I bet lots of people have never thought of that.

They care about eachother.

Ino is always cheering Shika on, in contrast with what he probably gets at home. He may claim not to like it, but he needs someone to belive in him. And Ino? Shika is always taking care of her, especially when she's at her most vulnerable. But, he still lets her take care of herself. Does that make sense?

[link]

Look at his reasons for saying 'no'. Her jutsu is only to be used as a part of their combo; if she misses, her body will be left vulnerable for several minutes. Only one person can go to fight Hidan, and he doesn't want her to go because he won't be able to be there to take care of her.

A Californian girl got in trouble for simply saying "That's so gay", while other students got away with harrassing her for being a Mormon.
So...
Still think we're the only ones being unfair?
Open your eyes.

Stop the hate.

We did.
